Postpartum & Newborn

Postpartum care- that honors the traditional roots of midwifery. Postpartum is so overlooked- yet so incredibly important!

It can offer skilled support around lactation. This care includes deep listening- to the birth and postpartum story. If you’d like, the care can also incorporate traditional techniques of teas, steams, oil baths, and marma therapy.

And the best part- is that this care is in your home!

Postpartum care with 3 visits: $1000

 FAQs

  • Homebirth is for you if you are willing, committed, and deeply desire the experience. If there are health concerns that require additional medical care for either you or your baby- we can discuss how to do hybrid/integrated care (see below)

  • You can birth anywhere you call a home. I’ve attended births in houses, studios, apartments, public housing, hotels, trailers, and air BNBs.

  • The best way to prepare for a homebirth is to prepared to be transformed: mind, body, heart and spirit. Our culture has so much fear surrounding pregnancy and birth. In spite of this- there are ways to bolster your confidence, fortify your spirit, nourish your joy, and deepen your love!

  • We work together during our prenatal care to make “our next best plan” in case of needing to shift the location of birth. This is done through informed choice and shared decision making. If something arises that no longer makes home the best or safest option, then we transfer care to a hospital.

  • We can make a tailored plan where I can provide aspects of prenatal and postpartum care if you are planning a hospital birth.

  • As a midwife for homebirth services, I am an out of network provider - which PPO insurance plans will cover at out of network rates. We will work with my billing company to verify benefits and bill for your care after the birth if your insurance benefits allow. My services will not be covered under the following insurance plans: any HMO plans, any Kaiser insurance plans (including Kaiser PPO), or Medi-Cal.

For lactation, please verify your insurance coverage here.

I am unable to bill insurance for well person visits, IUI, or midwifery care that does not include homebirth (i.e prenatal or postpartum care only)

  • Yes, I am committed to making midwifery care accessible for families. When we meet, please let me know if this is something that would make my care accessible for you and your family.

  • Let’s talk! I set up a virtual consult to answer any questions you have. If it feels right for both of us, then we can schedule our first visit. If you’ve had some prenatal care- I can request your previous records. You can send me a message through my contact page or an email to get started.
